This project supports people along the river to take a more active role in caring for it, through the Upper Murrumbidgee Community Stewardship Grants Program. Grants fund projects designed by community groups themselves, raising awareness of the river, building practical skills and knowledge, and involving people directly in recovery, monitoring and maintenance work. The aim is a legacy that outlasts the program. It is complemented by a river recovery community of practice being developed with South East Local Land Services in New South Wales.
